Rome, the IIBC delegation met with the Italian Confederation of Industries (Confindustria), represented by Mr. Marco Felisati, Director of International Affairs, and Mr. Andrea Carapese, representative of UNIDO. The discussions focused on recent economic developments in Iraq and emerging investment opportunities, as well as strategies to enhance cooperation between the industrial sectors of both countries. The two sides also explored ways to promote knowledge exchange, technological transfer, and joint ventures.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing sustainable industrial partnerships that foster growth, create jobs, and contribute to mutual prosperity. They agreed to organize a joint workshop and facilitate a series of business-to-business (B2B) meetings aimed at bringing a delegation of Italian companies to Iraq to meet directly with their Iraqi counterparts. This initiative will serve as a platform to explore concrete collaboration opportunities, exchange expertise, and strengthen commercial relations between the two countries.

Confindustria commended IIBC’s proactive efforts in connecting Iraqi and Italian industries and expressed its readiness to support the implementation of these upcoming initiatives.
