IIBC delegation met with Mr. Luca Passariello, Head of SACE Connects, at the SACE headquarters in Rome. The meeting focused on exploring SACE’s financial instruments and services designed to support internationalization, export credit guarantees, and investment facilitation for Italian companies in Iraq. Mr. Passariello provided an overview of SACE’s role in promoting Italian exports and its capacity to mitigate financial and political risks associated with Iraqi projects.

Both sides discussed the potential application of SACE’s tools to encourage Italian investment and participation in Iraq’s key economic sectors, particularly infrastructure, industry, trade, health, education, exhibition, and turism. The delegation emphasized IIBC’s readiness to act as a facilitator between SACE and Iraqi institutions to identify viable projects and create an enabling environment for bilateral trade and investment. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding of the importance of developing tailored financial mechanisms to empower Iraqi–Italian business ventures and strengthen long-term economic cooperation.
