Tourism & Cultural Exchange

The Iraq–Italy Business Council (IIBC) believes that economic cooperation must be complemented by strong cultural and social ties. Tourism and cultural exchange play a vital role in fostering mutual understanding, deepening relationships, and creating new avenues for sustainable development. By promoting both countries’ rich heritage, traditions, and landscapes, IIBC helps bridge communities and expand opportunities beyond business.

Our initiatives include:

  • Cultural Trips & Heritage Events:
The Council organizes cultural tours and heritage-focused events designed to highlight the shared civilizations of Iraq and Italy. These initiatives bring together historians, artists, students, and entrepreneurs, creating a platform for dialogue and appreciation of both nations’ cultural legacies.

  • Sustainable Tourism Development:
IIBC works to promote year-round tourism opportunities, supporting both group and individual travel. The Council collaborates with travel agencies to assist in licensing, coordination, and the facilitation of packages that meet international standards, ensuring seamless travel experiences.

  • Direct Air Connectivity:
Recognizing the importance of accessibility, IIBC advocates for the establishment of direct air transport routes between Iraq and Italy. Improved air links will not only boost tourism but also support trade, business missions, and stronger people-to-people ties.

  • Promoting Iraqi Tourism in Italy:
Through targeted campaigns, cultural showcases, and partnerships with Italian tourism operators, the Council actively promotes Iraq’s archaeological landmarks, religious sites, and natural attractions. These efforts aim to attract Italian tourists and facilitate easier access to Iraq’s diverse destinations.

  • Cultural & Artistic Festivals:
IIBC organizes joint cultural and artistic festivals to celebrate music, art, cinema, and literature from both nations. These festivals serve as a vibrant medium for cross-cultural exchange, fostering goodwill and strengthening the bonds of friendship between Iraqis and Italians.

Cultural Exchange

The Iraq–Italy Business Council (IIBC) views cultural exchange as a cornerstone of building stronger ties between the two countries. By promoting mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s heritage, traditions, and values, cultural exchange creates opportunities for deeper cooperation that extend beyond trade and investment.

Key Initiatives:

  • Heritage Programs: Organizing joint events that highlight the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia and Rome, showcasing the shared legacies that shaped global history.
